About Me
Asafa Khalili was born in Herat province of Afghanistan. She began as teaching assistant at Herat University of Afghanistan, and graduated with honors from the Law and Political Science faculty there in 2006. Asafa then worked as a defense lawyer for 7 years, pursuing more than 500 hundred civil, criminal, and family cases representing men and women.
In 2011, she was recruited as a lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Political Science. During this time, she also worked as Deputy of Law and established the Committee of Student Services, especially for female students. She became Director of the Gender and Examination Committee, and participated in national and international legal workshops and seminars. She completed her LLM Master’s Degree in Family Law and Social Security at Noida International University, India. She has also been working for the Legal Clinic of Herat University.
Asafa Khalili participated in a fellowship program called Judicial Systems Public Administration in Virginia, USA. She also worked as a short-term employee with Asia Foundation as the trainer of legal writing, trainer of legal ethics in practice, and instructor in writing legal textbooks. In addition, she signed a short-term contract with the CHECCHI/USAID, as a Legal trainer and taught Family Law and Business Law to the Afghan Ministry of Justice Staff in various provinces.
