About Me
Dr Abdul Saboor Matin is currently a Research Fellow at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), where he is engaged in socio-legal studies and collaborates with the Advice and Resolution Centre. He has completed the teaching qualification – Semi Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice (Associate Programme) and works as a Personal Tutor for final-year undergraduate law students. Dr Matin is also an accredited mediator, engaging closely with the UCLan Centre for Mediation.
In his professional career, Dr Matin has achieved notable success. He delivered a presentation at the University of Portsmouth Socio-Legal Studies Association SLSA Annual Conference 2024 Forced Migrants plenary and completed a research programme with the World Bank on essentials for reproducible research. Additionally, he attended the Global Young Academy Professional Development Training at Wolfson College, University of Oxford.
Previously, Dr Matin served as Deputy Dean and Law Lecturer at Herat University in Afghanistan. He has a wealth of experience in developing legal curricula and providing legal education in Commercial Law, Law of Contracts, Obligations, and Property Law. As a qualified solicitor and member of the Afghanistan Bar Association, he has practiced business law and trained future legal professionals. His dedication to the field of law and education is evident through his significant contributions and ongoing research efforts.
