Member of Advisory Board

About Me

Nasima Wasiq Mansouri

Born into a family valuing education and intellect in the cultural and ancient city of Herat, Afghanistan, in 1971, Nasima embarked on a remarkable journey defined by passion, dedication, and commitment to making a difference. From an early age, she was immersed in the world of academia, nurtured by parents who understood the transformative power of knowledge. She finished school and university at the top level with high grades.

She got her bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Herat University. Fuelled by a deep love for the subject and a desire to share its beauty with others, Nasima embarked on a career as a mathematics teacher. In the classrooms of secondary schools in Afghanistan, she not only imparted knowledge but also instilled a love for learning, inspiring countless students to reach for their dreams. After some years of working as a teacher, and sometimes as the headmaster in a well-known secondary school in Herat, she started working in the CHA organization, which was also focused on education. As a coordinator in the education sector, she played a pivotal role in shaping the curriculum and fostering an environment conducive to academic success. Beyond the classroom, Nasima dedicated herself to humanitarian work, collaborating with organizations such as the Red Cross to provide support and assistance to those in need. Also, as a civil activist, she was part of the cultural associations of Herat. Her compassion and empathy knew no bounds as she worked tirelessly to alleviate suffering and promote social justice in her homeland.

In 2011, in pursuit of new horizons, Nasima embarked on a journey to Australia. After adapting to this new and challenging environment, and acquiring new language skills and a Diploma of Childcare, she started her career as an educator in the Department of Mathematics in a school in Melbourne. Embracing her passion for working with children, she strives to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student can thrive and succeed. Outside of her professional endeavors, Nasima finds solace and inspiration in the pages of books, immersing herself in stories that expand her horizons and ignite her imagination. Whether delving into the realms of fiction or exploring the depths of mathematics, she always finds joy in the pursuit of knowledge and understanding. In every facet of her life, from the classroom to the community; her unwavering dedication to education, compassion for others, and love for learning serve as a candle of hope and inspiration. Her journey is a testament to the power of resilience, empathy, and the transformative potential of education to change lives and shape a brighter future for generations to come.
